I got my first bike.
The Lakers took the NBA Championship.
Visited the beach a few times.
Went to a couple bonfires.
Witnessed the passing of a musical icon and tried Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles for the first time.
Went to Palm Springs and experienced scorching heat like no other. Even the pools were warm!
Went to Disneyland for the first time in a long time–probably about 10 years. Also went to California Adventure.
Celebrated my 23rd birthday.
Went to Medieval Times for Chris’s birthday–my first time to Medieval Times.
Played with Photoshop for the first time in a long time.
I’ve been riding my bike everywhere, taking Burnie pillion. I ride it to school everyday, and it has paid off so far: traffic is no problem, parking is no problem. First day at Cypress College was insanely hectic if you were in a car. I have logged over 2,500 miles on it. Definitely need to do some much needed maintenance on it.
Speaking of maintenance, I still haven’t fixed my car since bending my wheel. It’s gonna cost nearly $1000: $250 for a new trailing arm, $125 for an alignment, $300 for front camber plates (necessary for a proper alignment), and $280 for a pair of new tires.
I’m itching to write some reviews on Yelp.com, but I’ve been really lazy to register. I went to a lot of different restaurants this summer, mostly because Burnie and I couldn’t choose the kind of food we wanted to eat each day and searching on Yelp for local favorites. We would literally sit at my house trying to determine what to eat for a couple of hours. We did cook at home a few times, but you can only really experience food when it comes from masters of the recipes.
Anyway, I’ve finally started a new path towards a different career in life: Computer Information Systems. Hopefully I’ll finish a degree in 3 years or something. I’m not sure why, but I always imagined working in an office building. I think it’s because I spent so much time in my mom’s clinic and at my dad’s workplaces that I’ve grown to hate being in those kinds of places. I can barely tolerate working as an LVN where I work at now. My dad’s offered me positions at his work to earn more money, but because I hate that place so much, I always flatly refuse.
I’m enjoying school so far…classes are actually a little dull but when I get in to the higher divs, they’ll probably get more interesting and complicated.
My Lola is turning 98 this coming Saturday. Amazing. I’m making a video for her birthday…I’ll probably post that up on YouTube after it’s finished.
Ah life…what turn will you take next.
